Sicily, land of Myths and Legends

In a land where myths and passion shape every generation, the idea was simple — to turn football into a symbol of identity and progress.
The project began in Sicily, a place where stories, devotion, and belonging have always defined people’s spirit.

It was here that a vision took shape: to create a model of football that could go beyond results, connecting the game with structure, community, and opportunity.
From that vision, the Acireale project was born.

Building a Vision in Sicily

The Acireale project began as an idea — the desire to create a football model that could stand the test of time, built not only on performance but on structure, culture, and identity.

It was born from the belief that football can serve a greater purpose: to connect people, generate opportunity, and strengthen communities. What started as a personal vision grew into a shared journey, with contributions from professionals around the world who brought expertise in sports planning, architecture, management, and development.

The project’s foundation was clear — to design a sustainable football ecosystem capable of supporting both sporting and social growth. This vision took shape in the creation of a 45,000m² sports complex, featuring football pitches, training areas, offices, accommodation, and leisure spaces.
It was not only about facilities, but about designing a system — one that could develop players, attract investment, and reflect the values of the region it represents.

Beyond the physical structures, we wanted to bring to Sicily a culture of connection inspired by my experience at West Ham United — where the relationship between the club and its supporters is a pillar of identity.
The goal was to build not just a football team with its management, but a sense of belonging that went beyond the game itself — transforming supporters into a living expression of community pride and shared purpose.

We focused on turning football into a strategic driver for local development: improving infrastructure, creating jobs, and offering educational opportunities to young players. The project also included the introduction of management models and operational standards aligned with professional football, paving the way for long-term sustainability.

Today, this initiative embodies the essence of DS Football Consulting — transforming ideas into structure, and connecting vision with action. It represents how a deep understanding of football’s human and organisational sides can create something that lasts well beyond the game itself.
